Valencia CF present at the launch of the first sustainability challenge organized by LaLiga together with Sports+Vitality in the Netherlands
Christian Schneider: "Sustainability has gone from a desire to a necessity and is here to stay. Valencia CF is committed to this vision".
Innovation and sustainability are two of the commitments of Valencia CF and the football industry for the present and future.
Over the last few days, LaLiga has launched in collaboration with Sports+Vitality its first environmental sustainability challenge in Breda (Netherlands), an initiative in which 9 companies selected from more than 40 applications have participated in order to help clubs with solutions focused onfootball performance.
The meeting, in which the Club has been represented by its Director of Operations and Infrastructures, Christian Schneider, was used to learn about projects and initiatives around aspects such as energy consumption and mobility, waste generation, water consumption and sustainable reconstruction.
Christian Schneider emphasizes that "environmental sustainability is necessary to avoid compromising future generations and to leave them a better world in which to live. Sustainability has gone from being a desire to a necessity and is here to stay. Valencia CF are committed to this vision and that is why we are participating in this forum to share measures and actions that will help us achieve our goals."
Valencia CF are focused on the constant search for new innovative tools to fight against the different challenges of environmental sustainability. For more than 8 years, the Club has been working on the development of actions to improve environmental sustainability, an example of this is that 100% of the electrical energy consumed internally comes from renewable sources.
In addition, Valencia CF are currently developing different projects to save energy and drinking water consumption, as well as working on improving the management of waste generated.
